Andreas Gursky is German photographer and proffesor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He is well known for his large portrait photographs usually taken from a high point of view. Gursky is well known as a record holder for the highest paid single photographic image. His print Rhein II is sold for $4,338,500 at Christie’s, New York on 8th November 2011.
El Ejido is photography which reminds a lot of Rhein II with its composition and colors but in this case landsacpe of a Spanish road has been polluted with rubbish from the passing cars. The foreground cluttered with garbage shows us how people interact with Planet.
